Tree planting work day
Meet at the park office at 9:00 a.m. Join the Friends and other volunteers to plant trees and shrubs and do some general cleanup of campgrounds. 9-noon. Then take some time to enjoy the park! Contact Chip at 608-851-0210 with questions or to volunteer.

Board Meeting-Annual Meeting
In person meeting.
The Annual Meeting of the Friends of Governor Dodge will take place on November 13 at 6:00 p.m. at the park maintenance building. Prior to the meeting there will be time to socialize beginning at 5:30 p.m. We ask that you bring your own beverage and chair.
All are welcome to come learn about the Friends’ accomplishments in 2024 and give input on future projects. New memberships will be accepted, and current memberships can be renewed at the meeting.

Smokey the Bear Birthday
Event will take place at the Trails End Amphitheater and Picnic Shelter at 6 pm. There will be cake and ice cream, story telling, games and activity sheets and more! Smokey will be making an appearance!

Vehicle stickers and trail passes not required on Saturday and Sunday

May Meeting: Meet and Greet
Meet at Twin Valley Picnic Shelter. Learn more about the Friends and share ideas. Bring a beverage of your choice and enjoy a bowl of chili & fixings. Please RSVP by May 13. See flyer.





First Day Hike
Meet at the Cox Hollow Lake Concession at 11:00 a.m. Join a guided hike on the Lake View Trail, just over a mile long. Dress for the weather. Friendly dogs on leash are welcome, too. Several members of the Friends group will be on hand. What a great way to start the new year….fresh air and exercise! This is a great time to get your 2024 vehicle park admission sticker, too.

Friends Annual Meeting
Find out about 2023 Friends accomplishments, elect officers, share your ideas about future Friends projects and funding priorities. Meet at park maintenance building. Bring a chair and beverage, pizza will be provided. Please rsvp to friendsofgovdodge@gmail.com

Fall Candle Light Hike
Park admission fee is waived in celebration of Governor Dodge State Park’s 75th Anniversary! Meet at Cox Hollow Concession area for a 1.25 mile hike followed by a campfire and s’mores.
